David R. Shaw, Chief Assistant Inspector General
Bureau of Independent Review
David R. Shaw was appointed Chief Assistant Inspector General of the Bureau of Independent Review by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in July 2004. Mr. Shaw previously served as the Deputy Executive Officer for the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board; Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning; Chief Counsel to the Assembly Public Safety Committee; and Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento County District Attorney's office, where he was cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of California. Mr. Shaw is a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and an adjunct professor of law at the McGeorge School of Law.
