David R. Shaw, Inspector General
David Shaw was appointed Inspector General by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in May 2008 after having served as the Chief Assistant Inspector General, Bureau of Independent Review since July 2004. Mr. Shaw previously served as the Deputy Executive Officer for the Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board; Executive Director and Chief Deputy Director at the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning; Chief Counsel to the Assembly Public Safety Committee; and Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento County District Attorney's office, where he was cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of California. Mr. Shaw is a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, currently serving as a brigade commander in the 104th Division.
